Over 30 people came to hear teaching for couples, called “From Inside to inside,” Sept. 28 in the congregation Jardim Presidente Dutra, in the city of Guarulhos. We left home at 3.30 pm, and returned around 9.30 the same night. The reception was very kind.
In two segments I taught on starting first on one’s own heart and then working wisely within the marital relationship and the home.
WOMEN READERS. Vicki now has 34 women in her WhatsApp group for daily Bible reading. They’re from many different congregations, cities, and states. Several are from the above-mentioned congregation. (See photo of two of them with Vicki in the link above.)
Each month Vicki publishes a reading schedule for the period, and each day she posts the reading for that day. (Here is October's.) People chime in after they have read the assigned chapters or passages.
COURSES IN EVANGELISM. Brother Eduardo P. mentioned that they are studying with two ladies in a small town in the interior of Pernambuco state, in the northeast, using the course we publish, “Da morte para a vida” (From death to life). He said they “want to know Jesus in truth.”
RADIO SUPPORT. We continue to pass on some funds to brother Valdizan for his radio work from a specific congregation in the USA. This is not something we normally do. We avoid using American funds to support Brazilians and their works, because it is not sustainable. It creates dependency. But this arose out of a peculiar situation, and we recommended that Valdizan be the recipient of this help.
WHAT ELSE?
- You can see my NOW page for October and a photo Vicki took of us on the way to Guarulhos on Sat.
- Starting slowly with a forum-type site to encourage workers in evangelism. Time will tell if it takes off. I used an old domain name to keep from buying another one.
- Found a little tract I published in 1996, “The Ecology of the Soul” (translation). Will type it up and publish it on cristaos.org. (Photo here.)
