Note: Consider this something of a follow-up to the newsletter published earlier in the week.
We were saddened by the news of the death of 62 passengers of the Voepass flight which fell yesterday in the city of Vinhedo, here in São Paulo state. It was approaching the Guarulhos airport to land. The city is about two hours from us.
There’s no news about brethren in Christ being on the flight. Several of the victims lived in the RMVale region here, but we didn’t know them.
This is Brazil’s first major commercial airline accident in 17 years.
SURGERY. Today we got word that evangelist Helder from Natal, in the northeast, will require an expensive surgery for prostate cancer. Brethren are rallying to help. Pray for him.
The big Northeast Christian Lectureship held annually in January is supposed to be held in his city next year, with him coordinating it.
NOW FREE. The new format of the magazine EDIFICAÇÃO was published Aug. 6, with the theme of peace. It has been published only in PDF format since the lockdown. With this issue, we’re making it available for free, to keep ourselves in the loop of so much free stuff (and not all good) on the internet. You can see it here: edifns67.
Now we have 14 columnists who have agreed to write at least every other issue. This last issue was 72 pages in the new format.
As far as I know, EDIFICAÇÃO is now the only periodical of national interest published in Brazil.
