Practical, to the point, challenging

The letter from James is practical, to the point, challenging, bracing, and refreshing. It was one of the first, if not the first, New Testament document. What a blessing is this writing about the Christian's faith in action! Read it now.

¶ Important decisions: trust in God when man speaks ill; sound sleep when the hounds are baying; not going beyond what is written; arriving boldly before the Throne of grace.

¶ Just when we get comfortable, circumstances change. Why are we caught by surprise, when this is the way of this world?

¶ Were there so many crazies out there before the internet came along?

¶ In one moment's activity Jesus taught and preached, Luke 20.1. We should be careful separating gospel from doctrine.

¶ Thankful for:

  1. friends who pray for me;
  2. the clarity and power of Scripture;
  3. calm in the midst of storm and disappointment.
